Architecture of Amena Khatun Shrine
The monument plan is octagonal style inside and circular on the outside. Each of its eight sides has an arcade with an Iranian designed arch. The tomb is covered by interconnections between the eight arches and the dome ceiling are shaped like eight feather star. The outside has a circular design, part of which is enclosed between two adjacent rectangular style halls. The upper part of the monument, which is taller than two rectangular halls, shows the cylindrical design of the building.
There is a deep well in the tomb that is more than 40 meters deep. In the past, people believed that to dispose of their needs they could write letters to Prophet Saheb al-Zaman (AS) and throw them into the well.
Enameled brick with geometric design, seven-colored tiles with plant patterns, earthen Moqarnas and mirrors are architectural arrays used in this historical building.
