Mohammadiyeh Mosque is located in the heart of the old part of Qazvin, on the first street of Iran, named Sepah Street, and in Mohammadiyeh Alley.
History and Culture of Mohammadiyeh mosque
This spiritual place has existed since the Qajar period until today, and people still go to this mosque to pray and perform other religious duties, and they benefit from its spiritual atmosphere. For more than twenty years, this mosque has been registered in the list of national monuments in order to be better preserved and to be remembered for future generations. However, in recent years we have seen serious damage to this old building due to the bursting of water pipes, especially in the northern parts of the building. Fortunately, these injuries caused concern among the citizens and culture lovers of Qazvin, and the authorities took care to eliminate these damages.
Architecture of Mohammadiyeh mosque
This building is built west-east. The interior consists of two parts, the east, and west. One space is limited to the mosque building and the other space goes to the basement, ie the bathroom and the toilet
The interior of the mosque is covered with a nave, which is decorated on the outside with tiled arches, and on the inside, it is decorated with square pillars of stone and arched arches on the columns and a cobblestone between the arches. The mosque's altar with a half-dome roof is another decorative element of the building. The coiling between the arches is the result of restoration work that took place in 1988.
