Imamzadeh means offspring or descendant of an imam in the Persian language. Imamzadeh Esma'il is descendant of Imam Ja'far, 6th imam of Ismaili Shia.
Architecture of Imamzadeh Barajin
The two floors include the main hall of the shrine, the four connected iwans on either side. The shrine has a doom which has spectacular tiling on the façade and matchless plasterworks inside.
